If you took the bags of fish, acclimated them and then dumped the entire contents into the tank (bag water and fish) than a huge ammonia spike is very possible. If the fish were in the bags for 3 days, than ammonia was at a very high level to begin with. When you open the bag, the pH in the bag water goes back up which will convert the relatively safe ionized ammonia into deadly un-ionized ammonia which will kill fish. Then if you dumped all this into your tank, it would not only kill your new fish, but also your established discus in that tank.
