never go buy that inch per gallon rule its dated and is garbage

thanks so much. absolute garbage. the pleco might like the taste of the discus' sides, i know from experience. i've never had bushy-nose plecos, but you might want to consider them instead of common monster baby-eating plecos. their poop will eventually become very annoying. unless you like tinsel...

 Tinsel:ROFL: That is very True.... go with the Ancesteral Bristlenose (hope I spelled that right) In my experience they seem to not care bout eating the slime coat :D

I got rid of the pleco. But good news thier is 150 gallon fish tank with the full set up ie stand lid light heart filter for sell in the paper for 300 dollars. My wife gave her blessing and she is calling to today to see if we can get it. Its 48 x 14 x 14 if my memory serves me right.

Um, I hope it really isnt 48x14x14. That would only be about 40 gallons. Check the dimensions before you pay for it. To get the gallons, u multiply the 3 dimensions in inches and then divide by 231. I still wanna see pictures of you other tank, it sounds really nice.

im not corret anybody but dont discus get about 9 inches and he/she ahs five of them which is 45 inches worth of fish right there the tetras plecos and oto will get 2-3 inches each sep the plecos which will get big to me thats puching it for a 75 gal tank but thats my input

yes in some cases discus will grow that big, but generally in bare bottom tanks with huge water changes, the dicus in that tank will be 5-6 inches tops

you ought to get rid of that common pleco, they grow way to big and sometimes will use the slime on the discus as a food source the otos should do the algae control just fine

i think it should be alright with proper monitoring with checks
water chemistry and bio load is important for maintaining a thriving discus comm
if everthing comes into order, nothing should go wrong
cheers!
