i wouldnt ever do a 70% water change that is dangerous to the fish it is a shock to change that much water at once. The water chemistry changes to much to quickly i never recomend doing more then 25% on any one day you would be far better off doing 20% 4 or 5 times a week then doing 70% changes. Also the people who said the 1 inch per gallon rule is no good are wrong. The one inch of fish per gallon is usually a good place to start as a beginner but once you are more experinced you dont have to live and die by that rule
