Nice! Any glue on those joints or just screws?

Thx everybody. I bet that thing could hold a Buick, and I think it weighs more than the tank!!!!!! And no glue, just screws everywhere.

I'll be sure to post pics once its all done. Hopefully I can finish it this weekend...

That is really nice. And that is your first one ever? It looks very sturdy, I bet that will go soo nice with the tank. Esp with that asian theme like the other pic you posted on a diff thread. Can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks! Yeah, my first wood project ever!! Here's a quick update. Got the wood for the doors, mocked them up, and installed some MDF trim. Hope to have it done in the next few days...

Ok stand is painted. All I have left to do is add the floor this weekend and that's it. Not bad for about $100 in materials :headbang2

thx! actually, you really dont need any real tools. other than the basic hand tools, you just need a miter saw. I got lucky and borrowed it from my cousin. you could even rent it. I got the doors cut from lowes since the miter saw couldnt cut them.

They can actually do all your cuts. the first few are free, then theyll charge you $0.25 per cut. Just be sure to measure and mark it yourself. my local lowes has some real dingbats that cant measure 20 7/8" to save their lives!!! they ruined two $17 redwood 2x8's!!!!

i see. last night i did end up going to homedepot to have them cut up some wood. i decided that im just gonna cover the frontend and 2 sides and leave the backend open and away from the wall just enough for me to get to my fx5 and be able to open my windows (hahah) it should turn out desent! as soon as i get the tank and the stand some what finished, bulk heads, pvc, and etc. ill start a thread in the african riftlake section showing my progress step by step until my setup is up and running with my tanganyikans...

damn, i would of payed you $300 to build me a stand! quotes around here with the minimum of $800 and thats unfinished....

keep up the nice work!
