MY DOG WAS ATTACKED BY 2 PITBULLS TODAY

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hello; This point of view has some holes in it. It would seem that there would be so called "bad Owners" spread thruout all the breeds capable of fatal maulings , not somehow concentrated into pitt bull owners to the point of skewing the statistics. Also my post about my neighbors who do fine with other types of dogs, yet had a pitt bull turn is being left out.

Hello; Go back and read my posts. I do not recall a mention of a ban. Not my idea.

Hello; I get that if somehow the pitt bull types were somehow all gone, some other breed would inherit the top killer spot by percentage. However I believe the numbers as they stand now would have the current second place killer breed in single digits, not near 66%.

I think this is a correct way to frame the 66% number. That the pittbulls kill more on their own than all the other breeds combined.

The care of Pitbulls is vastly different than 95% of the breeds out there.
that's exactly why I facepalmed. Just because you can "own a dog" doesn't mean you possess the necessary skills to own, train, teach, bond with a Pitbull. There are dogs, and then there are Pitbulls. As you can see by the statistics, not everyone is cut-out to have Pitbulls.......by your count, 66%.

When the dog starts to do something that could turn out disastrous, your voice needs to ROAR at them and if they don't stop dead in their tracks when you command, you need a new breed. They are already super-loyal, this makes it much easier, but ftmp and I know I'm gonna get **** from people about this, I have YET to see a woman without her own TV show maintain an authorative control over any Pitbull ever. Not saying they can't do it, I'm saying I've never SEEN it, and Pitbulls do not respond to that type of voice the way we need them to

I know my dog was attacked because we put our dogs in a bad situation, they should of never been given the opportunity to fight, completely the fault of the owners. In my own defense, I do have a close friend with 2 males pits and our dogs have become close friends for a long period of time, I had envisioned the same relationship forming. That's the difference between socialized animals and unsocialized animals.

IMHO pits need to be treated like a fire arm, they are either on your side, or they are locked up. No way I keep a dog that way, so will never have one.

I made mistake, I said "your count is 66%" in the last post, but I meant S skjl47

To be honest they(AMPT) appeal to me less and less over time, although I do recognize them as a incredible breed with some great qualities. I do love being able to take my dog everywhere off leash(practically)

again just my opinion, back in my roofing days in san jose, Spanish friend of mine had just a beautiful red devil pit. this dang dog smile, climb ladders , (he could not climb down) and just what you would think a wonderful dog,

this same dog tore into his wife's bull dog,. just fricked it up, killed there pug, just flat broke its back, latched onto a large German Shepard would not let go, had to get a pipe to break the bite, and was weird around children.

again this was a wonderful dog, unless A trigger trip was pulled.
