I was thinking on those same lines, if that Dovii is 6in he is truly lacking lots of color and jaw line.

I recently bought a F1 Dovii cichlid from a breeder and he said that it will kill everything?

16'' inches was the biggest dovii i've grown

Sorry, but if you had raised ANY dovii up to 16", you wouldnt even be asking your initial question...this is obviously your first and you wanted some kind of show of force that you didnt get so youre disappointed.

Separate the fish for a week or 2, rearrange the tank the day you put them all back together and see what happens.

Believe me its a male, wild fish commonly don't really have color. this dovii has spots on his fins and body. that last picture i taken of him, the light were off thats why he had faded colors.

Wild fish have the best colors. Once they are bred several times over thats when the quality or colors are really drab.

Not always true in every case...

I bet I could show you pictures of every cichlid species out there showing both wild caught and high quality F1 or F2 and you probably would have a hard time picking out which is which or even think some F1s look better.

We all like wild caught though to some extent.
