My Dovii

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm hoping to put him in next week I've still got to paint the back of the tank and build the stand, also got to get another heater that's my spare in there he broke the other one lol how big would you let him get in there?

Nice male, by him self he would be good for awhile with my dovii he grew to ten inches real fast but has slowed alot. I wouldnt keep him in there for life as much as the volume is large foot print is the most important 6x3 is Ideal in my opinion! Check your water again, are you using test sticks or liquid? Unusual for dovii to not eat unless you have just moved him into the tank. Give him time to getcomfortable. Some times it can take two weeks for dovii to get comfortable and start eating and not hide when moved to a new tank.

Well I moved him about 3 weeks ago and he was eating fine, for the last 3 days he's been hiding in the corner and not moving. Today however he has started cruising the tank again, I use both kits for testing btw.

In regards to tank size I'm planning in the region of 8x4x30" might build it depending on funds although definately around that size, will be a shame to not have him in the frontroom though.

Yeh I'm not overfond either I just had a box left over. I've noticed the red on his eye has like a cream smudge over some of it should I worry about that?

You posted he broke his heater? Without a heater he will act lethargic and probably won't eat either. Also his immune system is weakened, leading to possible infection (such as your are seeing with the eye) what is the temperature of the tank?
