thx m8,

Well as i wrote in the begining of the thread, i've been really buisy :D i have gathered all the specimens i have within a period of 3-4 months so the senegals came 2 me in these sizes.

But i can however tell you that my old senegal from a cuple years ago grew up to 8.7"-9" in 7-8 months.

What do you feed them and how big is their tank? If u dont feed them sinking pellets then you should start with it, since i started with pellets my bichirs grow like crazy in compared with the ones i had years ago that i only feed with fish, chrimp etc
Sorry for the very late response (I had forgotten that I posted in this thread :nilly:). Anyway, I feed it frozen krill, and it is in my 225 gallon (72"x24"x30"). Unfortunately, I don't have anywhere to buy sinking pellets (all of the lfs around me have a very limited variety of foods, so I have a hard enough time just finding the frozen krill). I am actually beginning to wonder if it may be SB, b/c I saw a thread a few days ago in which the OP was asking whether their senegal was SB, and their sen had a very similar body shape to mine, and the majority of those who posted in that thread seemed to believe it was an SB.

Some random pics just for the fun of it

99% of plecos big or small will do what yours did thats why you should not risk it.

Well I guess mine is very special then, because mine (also a gibby) has been with my senegal for close to a year now with no problems. It does, however, seem to be territorial, whenever any of my other bottom dwellers (a tt eel, bichir, and 2 LSN's) goes underneath "his" piece of driftwood, he either just pushes them away, or he starts sucking on them (but he doesn't stay attatched to them, just does it until they go away, which never takes much more than 1 second).

I see well that may be the prob then or its a SB as you say. Try 2 take some pics and post so we can take a look at your bichir. Btw, thats messed up bro, sinking pellets are magic man. They grow so fast and in a healthy way. sorry to hear that u cant get ur hands on it but im sure that some of the guys here knows how u can order it and have it sent 2 you. I also think that its really strange if ur LFS cant order some in for you, they should be able 2 do this if you ask them. Try 2 find the place that LFS's usually order the pellets from and give the info 2 your LFS, maybe that will help.

Try having a tank were the majority of the fish are bichirs. Like 10-14 larger specimens with a big pleco, you will soon find out that it will be a different story :)

I'll try to take a decent pic of its entire body, but it rarely holds still for a picture, so can be difficult to get a clear pic. as for the food, I know I could probably find a place to order it off the internet, but I can't afford to pay for shipping on a regular basis, so it's better pricewise to just get food locally.

Try 2 take a pic when u drop in some food, when it comes 2 the food then take the pic. I see man, you do what u have 2 do :)

BTW everyone , new pics on page 6 aswell so dont miss it :)
