Great thread Dan congrats on the dream tank. I didn't realize your age. I did the same when I was a teen but my idea of a big tank back then was 55g :)
Haha, thanks man.
looking good!!! great job!!!
Thanks!
tank is massive! the plants look excellent; do you have them attached to anything up top, or jammed into lid?
Thanks! I just jammed them in there. At first they would always fall through but they've just grown around the tank and getting them out will be much harder than keeping them in.
I'd suggest adding more festivum. They school very nicely in big tanks. Some get bigger than others and I'm not sure if different collection points will school together (they probably will?) but I have three in my three hundo and wish I had more.
I agree, I bought 3 tiny ones a few months ago because thats all my lfs had. The smallest one got eaten by a pike but these 2 have grown up together and they are so far doing great. I believe they are a pair because I saw their tubes down and a whole bunch of spawning activity but I never saw eggs or fry. Anyway, if I find a deal for some similarly sized festivums, I'll jump on it.

Some crazy roots on those pothos. Tank looks really nice. Have your rays been hunting the cichlids?

Thank you. No not really.
However one of the C.Dimerus stole a piece of shrimp while I was feeding the rays. Since the piece was so big he just sat at the bottom of the tank trying to eat it. Rachel (leopoldi) came up to him and pounced on the little guy. Thankfully she didnt kill him but he has a little bite mark on his head. I think she just wanted the shrimp though.

What's the red fish with two dorsal fins on the right of the picture? I like the way it looks.

festaedan festaedan , I don't think we are talking about the same fish. I did not see an RTGG in there, either. I am talking about the fish circled in yellow.

ooh, I thought you were talking about the little fish above the wood. The fish in question is a barramundi. Extremely hard to find in the states. I've had him for the past 8 or so months since he was only a few inches long.
