Cypress doesn't rot when it is submerged so I have no idea how thick it really is.
That reminds me of two cypress logs in Blue Springs near here. When Ponce de Leon travelled through Florida looking for the Fountain of Youth, he thought it was Blue Springs and made a detailed description of the area and spring head. He described the two logs in a Y fashion with the mouth of the spring in the center of the Y.

Five hundred years later, those two logs are still there today. :WHOA:

I was out there again today. This picture doesn't show it very well, but there aren't any roots under this tree. There are only the few on the land side of the tree. It is already leaning and is going to come down in the next good storm. Depending how it falls, it might be a good source of cypress knees.

The following pictures are of alive trees and knees. Please don't ask me to get you anything from these pictures. I only harvest dead wood.

well that whole tree in the first pic be perfect..... think you can ship me it??? pack the roots in wet dirt to keep it alive and call UPS...they say there is nothing they cant over night LOL

I found some that are better. Sixty some pics, so it will take some time to get through them. I have a job interview tomorrow so I won't get to all of them tonight (morning...depends on yer perspective).

Some of the pictures look like they are out of a Harry Potter or Jim Henson movie. ...Especially this one.
