I'm probably sounding derpy at this point but this guy isn't gonna try to suck slime coat like a pleco right? Never heard of it but also came across the interesting fact juveniles have been seen in the wild cleaning hoplias aimara wolf fish of parasites and such so I hope that doesn't translate into a taste for slime

Haha I don't think so. These fish to me are not algae eaters therefore they can't suck slime coating off of any fish. They just eat solid foods lol.

Mine comes out often. They can definitely smell the food as soon as it hits the water. Cool cat. I have two.

What's really cool is their whiskers as it feels up on the sand and can find the smallest pellet with the whiskers.

The whiskers are ridiculously long too. Here's a front pic and side pic of my cat. And I haven't even fed him yet lol.

Just feed him.daily with sinkin pellets. Really small ones. Hell put on weight bit it will take a real long time since they are real slow growers. But they do grow

I break regular hikari carni sinkers in half for him and the geo balzani, I have yet to see him eat in the main tank but he's probably just settling in, he's with 2 good sized bichirs, a 14 inch rope fish and a red hi fin wolf fish so he's got some big preds to deal with

Yea mines with a bichir as well. When it gets bigger I'm not sure if the bichir will try and eat him lol.

Haha yea. The body is kinda like armor. If u look close there's like spikes on the side of the body...super cool. I've only seen 6-7 inches but that's on YouTube. I'm not sure they get to 9.
