before i got my mollys NONE of my fish had ich ( and none of them still dont ) theyll flash once in a while but that is cause i clean there filters and overflow once a week but thats normal for them to do it ONCE in a while. so iam hoping my main tank stays ich free!!

also they frequently die right before or during the process of giving birth. Similar to english bulldogs, they are not designed for functionality, they are bred for looks. Thats the downside to being an incredibly deformed fish sadly. Not using a breeding net is a good idea for balloon bellies as you want the birth to be as stress free as possible.

Also agree about the ich prone remark. Ich is a sign of other problems, be it stress, bad water parameters, other diseases, wrong temp or fluctuating temps, etc. All fish are "stress prone" which is the leading cause of ich.
