Cute little feller!

You're lucky that he took dead food so easily. I'll admit that I'm jealous. And unless you're using $$$$$ camera equipment, the pics you have are about as good as you can hope to take for a flighty little tigerfish. They're really not too bad at all!

How much current are you running? It doesn't look like much/any...

There's 2 nano koralias on the other side of the tank. So far it's avoided the high flow areas and hung out in the calm spots. I'm stoked about it already taking tilapia! Thanks to JA, they already switched it so I didn't have to.

Edit: it's only in a 20 right now cuz it's too small to go in the 40 with the scombs, goonch and aba. The koralias are rated at 240gph each. Is that enough? I agree that it doesn't look like much. With the 2, the anubias don't move that much but then again, I don't think they're in the direct flow either

I think for a 20g it's probably enough current. You are very lucky that it takes non live. IME GATF are more stubborn to break.

That's good to hear. You have no idea how stoked I was when Mike told me that he was feeding it pieces of tilapia. I read all the threads on here and the tricks people were trying to get theirs off live and I was not looking forward to it. What's the growth rate I should expect? I know it's extremely slow but how slow are we talkin here?

Well don't get too stoked. They still need a full balanced diet for long term. Just filets won't give them the trace minerals and stuff that's normally in fish guts. But at least he takes non live. I'd still try pellets or diy food eventually too.

Growth rate depends on how much they eat obviously. But typically 1/4 to 1/2" per month.
