Gotcha. I guess I hadn't looked into the dye prices in a while.
I used the fake plants and real driftwood to contrast the slate color of my styro aquascapes.

yes they are not that expensive the bad thing is that i might only used a little for some high lights....so might use it for other backgrounds maybe i will make another one for my 55......today i didnt do much on the project...had to do some other projects..

I made some progress with the background I used drylok with charcoal to start I coated everything ..may coat it again just to make sure I got everything.. in a few days I will hit it with buff n terra cotta..well I will post some pictures tomorrow.... I was wondering for those that know do I have to seal the drylok with another sealer..so the color won't fade or come off??

very nice back ground fella. cant wait too see it coulored in and filled with your new Oscar

Made some progress today with overflows and drain pipes ..I'm almost done painting background need to give it some touches here n there came out a little darker than I thought but it starting to look more like rocks.well at least I think so....will post some pics tomorrow.more like later today..lol...I have some but they look bad with the flash... havennt yet decided how I will make the background stick to the back ..might end up using lots of silicon.... ...

It will also look different once submerged and wet. When you are doing your touch ups, the color that the mix is that you are adding to the background is going to be pretty close to what the color of the finished product will look like once you put it in the tank with water.
You're getting close, then they cycling and water changes begin.

well here are some pictures i was wondering if i should go a little lighter what you guys think???they look a lot better in person phone pictures didnt come out that great ..still have to finish the overhang..
