My First Datnoid

How is your comm tank doing after introducing this guy?

The topic got derailed into some eel talk the last time around. Haha
Well, I mean, he's pulling through. He's already been snatched by my endlicheri bichir and then spit out. (Of course, my bichir couldn't fit him in his mouth). He's very shy, and only sometimes comes out. So far, he only eats bloodworms and nothing else. Thanks for asking! (On a side note, I noticed him flicking himself off my sand substrate kind of frequently. Does this mean anything?)

Hopefully nothing too serious after that bite!

It is encouraging to know he's already eating BWs well.
Drop those on the same spot. Let him know that he is getting his usual food from you.
Then.. slowly add some sinking pellets into the mix. Bite size.

Before you know it, he should start to understand that those pellets are food. Might spit some out the first few tries though..

Looking forward to the transition updates!

As for the flicking off the substrate.. All my Dats do that. It can be just a few times of rubbing action on anything in the tank.

First thought that it is something to do with water quality issues in general. But after keeping these guys for close to a year now after countless times of the usual water changes, i believe it is just something that they do.
Not too sure though but all are doing well. Eating. Interacting. Growing.

I do dose Prazi Pro once every 2 months.. Just to keep parasites in check.
