My First Discus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice pickup! Now go get some friends for him! I keep four healthy discus with dats and polys without any problems, and my PH out of the tap is 8.0. The discus have laid eggs three times so far and I cant see any signs of them feeling mistreated in that tank.
So keep up the good work and as I said, get him some friends.

Nice background. That discus looks like an albino blue diamond striated. I have a couple of them but with so many breeders with different name, its hard to remember all the names.

Looks like a pigeon blood cross to me, and hats of keeping the with pbass, i tried it once in a 300 with 5 discus and 2 pbass(not sure what type) ended with 1 pbass and one wild caught green heckle disc. Although i did have success with the disc and a blue and silver aro worked for about 3 yrs until the aro's got to big for the tank

Killer FT shot! Love how the lighting really captures the roots of the tree.

Thanks, it really does wonders for the visual presentation of the tank.

Beautiful setup. You should add in a few Flagtail Porthole Catfish.

Yea, I've entertained the thought of a Flag Tail, however being the background is foam, don't want the risk of the sucking (not the way HOUSE64 does). I may search for some Zebra plecos....who knows. But, yea a flag tail would be nice.

Yea, my experience with Aro's has been that they can get very aggressive. This is the only Pbass specie that I would try this on. My experience with several specie of Pbass in the past has showed me that tempermant varies amongst the different specie.
