My first DIY build. Snake enclosure.

That's how I figured to do the humidity/heat as well. No point cutting out holes if you don't need to, right?

I just got my door frame materials back from my Dad last night, so hopefully I can get working on those tonight or tomorrow after work. I'll probably post pictures of mine then...

Yea better to cut later if needed. I still need to work on my frame and find the acrylic, $50 at lowes it's a lil more than I wanted to spend.

I'd like to see what your doing. What are you housing in it?

Its a little more work with the door frame to do it, but glass is a lot cheaper, and less likely to scratch (probably not an issue with a blood python though).

I can get 2x 2'x2' panes of 3/32" glass from my local hardware store for about $10-15. Just cut a groove in the frames, slide the glass in, and then glue/nail/screw the frames tight around the glass.

I'm housing a juvenile rhino iguana in mine. He's currently in a much larger glass terrarium, but we're looking at moving soon, and the terrarium needs to be moved to show the house. We'll either move the terrarium to my parents house for now, or I'll put it in the back room with the iguana cage, and then put Varanio's black tree monitor in it ;).

I'll try to post some pics up tonight of the progress I've made on mine. All that's left to do is the doors, and any light/heat/vent openings.

Finished over the the weekend. Just waiting on my RHP and going to look for a larger water dish. Figured a throw in the pic of the wife's annoying dog for some humor.

that is a very nice blood python!
Thanks, she is the first one I've owned.

nice build. the height will give you added working space. humidity can just be adjusted accordingly.

I will work on humidity when my RHP arrives. Hopefully tomorrow, I found a nice size Sterile Tupperware that I am useing a water/soak dish hope that the size will help raise humidity.
