Hey man, your threads gunna probably inspire bucket loads of ppl to put ponds in, im guilty.

Do you have a canister on that 180 that sally is in now? You could put her in the pond and hook the canister up to it temporarily to get the bio going. Good luck moving her, and if you want to go bigger you can you just might have to take out you bed and get a floating raft to sleep on.:)

hahahaha!!!!

My fiancee would boot me out the house so fast if I did this. But since I have become a member of this site my old love for fish is blooming again. I took a break and did snakes but I miss my babies ):

Def gonna have to talk the fiancee into letting me do this some day, haha (: maybe get a 2nd bedroom for "the kids"
People will be like, oh how many kids do you have?
Ohh I'd say around 30 (: hahahaha I can see it now.
I now have a new dream. Thank you Moo for inspiring me (:[/QUOTE]
dude, im 14 now. and if my parents had a fish pond in my room i would love it. i think you should make an excuse and tell her that you need to put it in your room because the running water helps you sleep. haha. my mom belives it.

I actually find it really hard to sleep without the tanks. I spent the night at someone elses house on the weekend and i was up til 3.30 because it was so quiet. And a couple weeks ago the power went out, the lack of humming woke me up haha.

I have dreamt about just sleeping on an air matress in the middle of my flooded room, wouldnt be practical though. Sally would wake me up at all hours whiskering my face saying "feed me! feed me!"

Transferring the filters is a good idea, Its what I did when I moved her into this tank. Unfortunately the tank went through a mini cycle and put her under alot of stress. Water changes actually made it worse because we had nitrite in our water supply. I'd rather just take the time to cycle it properly that way I know it'll be safe for the little kitty.

/my gf has let me install a ghetto pond in our shed, now i need to find something to use as a filter housing that i can pass at least 6-8000LPH thru??? the draw idea went out the window when i figured my pond will be 3000L so your imput is paramount Moo!!!!!

Cheers in Advance Drew

Cheap and easy, 55gallon barrel (the big plastic ones), input on the bottom from your pump, egg crate to keep media off bottom. media-lava rocks and polyfill (polyester pillow stuffing from the fabric store) if your broke like me! Install in series with a second barrell if you feel the need for more capacity. output from the top of the barrel into the pond.

Expensive but proven, are any of the off the shelf systems and actual filter media rolls.
