Thanks everone, he is doing much better, yesterday night I went out and purchased new fresh food for him as most of my other food I think is starting to lose its nice fresh smell.
I picked up a fresh large bag of Hikari Cichlid Gold LARGE pellets, Hikari Floating Carnivore sticks and a fresh medium can of Tetra jumbo krill.
I can tell he doesnt care much for pellets, he seems to gum them up, spit them out and make a total mess. Already did a few gravel vacs.
I first tried the Hikari Gold Cichlid pellets, he ate a few, then I tried one of the carnivote sticks, he hated it.
Then I tried some of the jumbo krill, and he just slammed them whole. Being he had such a rough trip I let him indulge on the krill and he ate about six large krill.
Gonna try to get him going steady on the Gold pellets, Jeff said he was pellet trained.
This is my first WILD fish, and true monster fish. He has some of the typical battle scars of a wild fish, nothing major.
I hope with some good feedings and lots of constant water changes all the little nicks and slight fin tears get better.
Doing a major water change in my 6500 gallon pond today from all that nasty rain yesterday, but will get some photos of this fish soon.
