SUCCESS!! I dropped half an algae wafer in for my pleco and bam, she was all over it! She just loved them! She also ate flakes which blew me away! I wasnt expecting her to touch them. Im a little afraid to feed her feeder fish when she gets big enough, is there anyway to garuntee that a fish is healthy enough to be fed to my oscar?

Other than quarantining the fish, I don't think so.

At the pet store here in town the tank is packed with the feeder gold fish and the water is kinda gross looking. I dont think Ill be feeding them to anything ever.

Once the fish gets a little bigger, make sure you have a strong hood on top. Or weight it down. I had two in a 125 and both 12+ inch fish ended up on the ground. Luckily I was home (early morning thump/splash) and was able to get em back in safely..

i think that u should keep the temp at bout 85 nd itll b really alert but make sure ur filter is bigger than what your actuall tank needs soo if you got him in a 55 use a fliter for a 70 itll save u later ur filter wont get all stuffed nd water will b clean feed im once a day with a snack mayb inbetween trust me he will grow really fast i had 1 in a 35 before i knew how fast he was close to 12 inches nd died to to filter clogging nd me bieng gone rip peaches lol
