Nice endli. I'm getting two myself tomorrow.

thanks again.. is it ok to keep more than 1 endli in a tank? if so then i should get another ASAP.. my LFS hardly stocks them so this is like a once in a life time thing..

nice looking bichirs, but you will need at least a 120 gall to house an endli. See stickies for more info and search on the forum for similar topics.
cheers

Nice endli.
I agree with the above post. I wouldn't of put my endli's in anything smaller then what they were already in which was my 120 gallon. And I feel I would of been pushing it as they grew. Mine grew from 4" to 14" in about 6-7 months.
I'd suggest feeding raw shrimp and talapia diced up really small as a staple and keep it up with the pellets.

I would wholeheartedly recommend new life spectrum (NLS) for your bichir.
For a little guy you could get the regular 1mm pellets or the "medium fish" formula which are 2mm. The "large fish" ones are 3mm and they're just about the right size for my 5"+ bichirs.

I was reading a package for hikari in my LFS. Looks to me like its got the typical cheap fillers in it. Decide for yourself, though.

a little update on my poly.. hes doin well.. eating nicely and getting fat..

now the good news... im getting a 80gallon tank this weekend.. woohoo!!!

so now i need some tank mates.. i was thinking of tinfoil barbs and severums.. is there any other schooling fish i can keep? i want the tank to be active..

im also going to use sand.. gravel is not working for my poly..

good, but I hope you realize how much space your endli need after all what we have suggested to you. Otherwise you'll end up spending more of your cash.

yes i do understand what's needed.. when the time comes I do plan on upgrading again.. at the moment I don't have enough space for a 120gallon so for now 80 will have to do.

Silver dollars work well too.

Silver dollars will eat plants. Real plants are important to making your tank look decent (IMO). Anubias grows great in low-light tanks, as does bolbitis. I recommend congo tetras, which get pretty big. They may not work when your endli gets truly large, though.

I also recommend getting an african knife fish. They're SOOOOOO cool. Mine's really really active. Out all the time. I think its the subdued lighting I have.

a friend of mine has an african knife, he's also very active.. that might be a good option..

for some reason i just don't like silver dollars.. don't know why.. i prefer tinfoils..

thanks to everyone for the help so far.. it's really appreciated :D...
