Very pretty little Ray. Sex?

Is that shrimp raw? It looks cooked, maybe it's just my old eyes.

But I agree with all others, mince the shrimp up. make it easy for the Ray to eat.

Also consider throwing a few dozen Grass (Ghost) Shrimp in with it if its' tankmates aren't going to gobble them up.

For young pups I don't even feed shrimp until about the middle of the first to the second month and then it is finely minced. I usually start with blood worms or blackworms then move on to smaller worms and then to canadian nightcrawlers till they get some size. At around the middle of the second to the third I start intoducing pellets.

Thx guys! ill try chopping it up more. Ill try to get the pellets for them , and ill chop it up the prawns more. (I dont think ghost shrimps would be good as my filter is in-built and they will get sucked in) Ill think i can get mealworms. What about frogs? Small ones?

Problem with frogs is they are going to pretty much stay at the surface.

If they are wild caught they could carry parasites or chemical contamination. Additionally, there is a fungal infection called Chytridiomycosis that is wiping out Frog populations all over the Western Hemisphere and rest of the world. It has rapidly spread northward from South and Central America.

Whatever you feed, while it's still a baby just make sure it's chopped up pretty fine. Get one of those drink blenders (about $8-10) and stick your worms, shrimp, fish fillet, etc. into a glass and presto it's minced Ray food. Just don't do it too long, just a couple of buzzes or you'll end up with a milk shake :WHOA: Bass-o-matic
