I just started my 125g tank stand today. The skeleton is entirely made up of 2x4's glued and screwed together. I still have to add the sides, bottom, and doors which will consist of 1/2" and 3/4" plywood, but I'll save that for another day. So far I'm still on budget having only spent $70 on wood, screws and glue.

Stay tuned for part 2.

Here's a few pics of my first days progress.

Good Job! Doesn't look very comfortable though.:)

haha! indeed

Update:

I woke up to the sound of rain hitting the roof. It was cold and miserable out but I decided to do a little work on the stand anyway. Today I cut out panels for the sides and back of the stand. I used some old cupboard doors for this, yeah they look like crap but a little paint and wood filler should fix that. I attached the 1/2" plywood bottom today as well.

Some pics...

here's a pic with the bottom attached

Back panels cut out ready to be attached.

I decided to attach the panels 2" higher then the top of the stand to cover up the tanks plastic trimming. It'll look something like this once its all put together.

Then it got dark and I had to quit. More work tomorrow...
