Good to see it is working. I got to thinking about your idea of keeping fish in your sump...If you raise the pump on something and add screen to keep the fish out of the pump, then you could keep smaller fish in there. The JD's just won't have enough room in there though.

One other thing, the overflows were not from my tanks. I made those specifically for you. Since your sump was going to be next to the tank rather than under it, conventional overflow designs would not work.

Why Would I have to raise the pump? I couldnt i just stick the pump into a corner of the sump?

With fish in there, you will have the water level higher than normal. And for the safety of the fish, you want a guarantee that the water will not drop below a certain level.

However, if i add more water to the sump, won't the tank overflow?

Btw, the drying is taking really long for some reason. I using this grayish colored pvc glue but its still not drying -_-

Ewww...I don't use that stuff except for underwater gluing. The clear stuff sets in less than 30 seconds and the drips and globs dry up in a minute or two.

This is all a learning process. The lessons learned here will stay with you for life. The kids your age that are not doing things like this will be clueless when they are 20 and 30. You will be the next master answering their questions.

Uh oh -_- lol maybe i picked the wrong glue haha. Its been three days and its still not dry -_-.

Yup - everything is a learning process. I plan to keep my three small fish in the sump because the dempsey pair in tank are getting frisky. chasing all fish and such.

So what does the can of glue say? It is for PVC, right? I have not heard of any that isn't dry after 24 hours.

Uh oh...If it says 'epoxy', then it has to be mixed with hardner first. Otherwise it will never dry.

well. on the tube it says pipe joint compound.
-lubricates and seals threaded joints on water, natural gas, steam and air lines. Non-hardening formula will not crack, crumble or shrink
-safe non-toxic formulation contains no lead.
-simply apply to clan male threads and assemble the joint.
-do not use on plastic threads
-knead tube before use.
This one is made by Datey® :D (I love the symbols)

Btw, Why not the metal scrubbies? Do they cause rust? because now after leaving water in the sump for a few days, it turned bright orange - something that looks like you can drink like kool-aid.
