Ok here is the fish list for my 125 Central American/Northern South American Aggresive Biotope. I have included my toadfish from india, no he is not brackish different species. he has the same care/water requirements as the other fish and is my fav-catfish. Ok here is the list:
1 Blood Parrot Cichlid
1 Banded Leoporinus
1 Freshwater Toadfish
1 Green Terror Cichlid
1 Oscar Cichlid
1 Convict Cichlid
1-2 Bushynose Plecos
2 Jack Dempsey Cichlids
3-5 Pictus Pim Catfish:headbang2
It is slightly overstocked, but to cope i will have over 500 gallons per hour of filteration from canister filters, using biological and chemical filteration. The fish are set and will not change. any suggestions on color phases for the oscar or the convict cichlids:D. i will post pix once it is done. i am on phase 5 of 9 of setup. thanks.:D

That's a lot of fish for a 125, good luck.

Also, Blood Parrots aren't a naturally occurring fish, so you can't really have a "biotope" that includes these fish. Unless you meant Hoplarchus Psittacus?

What's it matter? You can't have a "bio type" with fish from two different continents

sorry i guess i should call it a natural looking but totally fake tank. the water and decor will be the same as central america/ northern south america. so will most of the fish. 2 fish out of like 15 isn't a big deal. sorry if it seems rude but they look the part of fish from that region and have the same care as fish from that region. so yep.

I would only get one JD, if you get a breeding pair they wilkl get really aggressive and beat the crap out of the other fish. I also think your slightly overstocked. If you keep up with the water changes you should be okay. BUT the JD and/or GT may go after the oscar, they are not as aggressive.

could you post some pics and info on that freshwater toadfish. i have a brackish freshwater lionfish and hes the best but i've never seen a true freshwater one.

the toadfish is allenbatrachus grunniens, they are freshwater, but can be kept in brackish, while most are brackish but can be kept in freshwater. the jack dempseys are both female. i thought i had a breeding pair. but my male turned out female:( i will be doing water changes once a week to once every other week, as needed.

Im going to try and give you some advise even though you said you didnt want any. Those jack Dempseys are going to destroy the Oscar. I have a very similar tank setup in one of my 125's. I have a pair of Oscars and they still get beat to hell. I don't want you to make the same mistake i did. Regardless what the sites say online that you can keep jack dempseys with oscars its not a good idea.

Oscars are just too slow. They are better kept with severums, chocolates and the like. The only way to make it work is to get bigger oscars then jacks and hope the oscars maintain their size advantage. This isn't guaranteed though so its basiclly taking a shot in the dark. (My jacks were smaller then my oscars and have blown past them now)

ok... so then would a jaguar or what other larger cichlid would fill the gap? i thought that since i have 2 female jd's i would be ok... these fish are giving me more trouble then they might be worth...>=[ i know the tank is slightly over stocked but with the filters and water changes i should be ok. if it really looks overstocked i can go to 2 pictus and 1 bristlenose. i don't want to have to but that is the backup plan...
