Any new pics of the tank? Pretty cool to have a fish for 14 years. Gars are amazing.
 
Thanks guys...no new pics. I'll get some though. I am also looking at a 240 gal acrylic today. He is still in the 125 with a JD. The oscar died and got HITH never had feeders, water quality just wasn't watched for a while. My fault completely. Gar is still active and healthy as far as I can see.
 
Nice gar bro!! There's one at my lfs that me and my wife have had our eyes on for a while but we want to upgrade our tank to at least a 180g first

Thanks. They are great fish. And the 240 is getting picked up tomorrow!...finally! It needs much TLC though. I'll be looking around here for some acrylic buffing ideas/help. Not bad $400 for a 240.

Just a few updated cell phone pics of the gar. No issues at all. The 240 gallon did not go as planned. I had it ready to go and got it in my house, but it wouldn't make the turn to my basement. I need about 4 more inches of clearence.
I did up the filtration and on top of the fx5, I have an eshopps 300wd, rated for 300-400 gal aquarium.

He has been eating silversides and floating cichlid sticks.
