My friends overstocked tank! I try to help him

This is funny, but I've seen worse.

I remember one of my old buds had a 20g with jaguars, doviis, oscars, red devils, and convicts. A year later, only a red devil left.

Water quality will kill them off long before aggression becomes a factor. No way 55 gallon can contain that bioload. Unless he has like a 200 gallon sump.

Sounds like an aquatic prison riot just waiting for the first gill flare.

Sounds like he needs an intervention or else have those fish confiscated. I know how it feels though, intake care if the 55 in my school and they always say "oh it's a bad time, let's talk next week". At the beginning of he year there were 4 neon tetras, 2 glofish, 2 platies, 5 mollies, 1 Cory, and 1 common pleco. Now there are 3 neon tetras, 2 glofish, 3 mollies (one is pregnant and has inch), 1 Cory, and 1 pleco. I swear I'm going to flip on them pretty soon, I'm just keeping calm now because they're giving me the tank and and the fish and I want to get those fish to a better cleaner home (also they haven't changed water once in the three years it's been setup).

I tell him all the time, he's had them growing for a year in there and hasn't actually lost any. So he just says if they are alive they are fine. His water is always clear but params must be awful.
