Yeah, all three of my males are 6 1/2"-6 3/4" TL (not including trailers), I believe titansfever83, here on MFK has a 7" male, and deadfishfloating on CF had 6.5" fish. Mine are 2 3/4 years old and have not grown in the last 6 months. If yours have constantly bred, I'm not surprised they have stopped at 5", my most reproductive female is barely 5".

So they slow down once they breed? Maybe some abstinence education is in order :D

That's some amazing colors on them. Do you have any other tankmates for them or is it just the breeding pair?

Here is one of mine.
Geo_redhead-1.jpg

I have 4 pairs.
I have 3 pairs in a 125 gallon 72" long tank with some sand. I divided one pair to about a qrtr of the tank when they had fry. the male seemed to hold them more then the female? After about 3-4 days no more fry!?
I have had them spawn before in the tank but no fry. I removed some other fishes & one pair for more room in the tank for spawning etc.
What is the trick to get viable fry? Should I strip them from the parents or let them try again or more til they get it right? Or should I just give the pair the entire 125 gallon tank?
Any help would be appreciated.
