That was crazy!!!!
I noticed with the pics that we were checking out that the females mouth looked smaller compared to the males. If that is also a good way to discriminate the sexes I am thinking the small one might be a female but I am positive it is too early still to be for sure.zerojquan85;3913003; said:lucky..
Mine gets freaked out easily.. i dunno if its because of my tank lighting or the goldies just HATE light..
Yes.. i do agree that the ratio of male to female sex is 1:2 So its better to have more than 1 female.. Females are very hard to find.. and also extremely hard to sex.. if ur lucky enough and find a female.. dont let the chance slip by..

How's the fish? Fishing? And what have you been keeping now?

Mine love their algae wafers and their shrimp. Soon I am going to be getting some type of vitamins to soak the shrimp in cause I have some stubborn dats so they should be getting their vegies. They were eating massivore too but I am a little low on funds right now but as soon as I can I am going to order a 2 pound bag of them as long as they don't rip me off on shipping. No stores carry the bags that big.zerojquan85;3913013; said:yup.. and ur not gonna be able to tell what sex it is until its about 8-9" long..
One thing that tips you off if a pleco is female is its slender head and body.. Their head's aren't as big.. and the spikes or odontodes tend to be less long than males.. Also, having Odontodes doesnt' mean that its a male.. it can be a female as well...
From what i understand after reading from planetcatfish.. odontodes can fall off if a pleco is either malnutrition or water quality is bad... but mainly... diet is the most important factor...
I dont think most people realize this.. but Goldie and other family of the Scobinancistrus are all MEAT EATERS! shrimp is a must along with some veggies...
