dont have either lol. i just love rays. and a rtc is my choice in cats. i have a small amazon community tank with a 50/50 actinic bulb. pretty much any bulb that will fit your fixture will properly light up your tank

i need help deciding whats the best lighting for a gulper cat tank that's 36'' X 18'' X 18.5'' high

i'm pretty sure you can use granite. silica is not harmful to fish. just harmful to us.

there's a little more then just the silica to worry about when it comes to granite...

from research Ive done i have discovered not all granite is safe ...its also expensive...

small update...

i ordered the tank today, i decided to go with a 56 gallon tank that is, 36''X18''X20 high'' instead of the 52 gallon - 18'' high... the tank is made by hagen if anyone was wondering.

i still have a few questions.

1. i need help deciding whats the best lighting for a gulper cat tank that's 36'' X 18'' X 20'' high. keep in mind im pretty sure the inhabitant does like very bright light..i may be wrong... some please correct me if so! ( i was thinking a 24'' 14 watt coralife t5 colormax )

2. what size of drift wood should i look for? again the tank is, 36'' X 18" X 20'', should i give the gulper lots of space or can the wood be very large?

3. still need some advice from tiled tank experienced people. i looked at the tiled tank thread but found it more inspiring then informational lol.. so any help with safe tiles would be very much appreciated

thanks

i like your idea... I would do it too if i could
