Now that Thor is in the other tank with the lighter substrate his base coloring has changed as well. With this brings up the question of his sex. Before he was always really dark so couldn't see if there was a dark spot in the dorsal fin. Well it looks like there just may be one. 20190129_080224.jpg 20190129_075705.jpg 20190129_080104.jpg 20190129_075654.jpg 20190129_075632.jpg 20190129_075659.jpg

Are guys seeing a black spot in the dorsal as well?

A little, but think still male.

Today Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 came over and scooped up a few of my fish. He took home with him Betsie, the 2 Four line pims, and lastly Thor. I know right. Well lots of stuff going on here with the remodel going on, and the fact the my sons mother dropped off 9 Firemouths the other day...
So with the rehoming of these 4 let me put all the fish from the 55 in the 125 and shut the 55 down. One less tank to move around during the remodel.

I was informed that the rest of the remodel won't be till late spring so I couldnt let that tank sit months on end empty, so I went and ordered a male and female H. Carpintis "Rio Hondo" 6 to 7 inch from COTA.13655771365578136557913655801365581
And of course he killed the female right off....1365582

Sorry about the female, but that male is a real "Show quality" fish. Nice pick up.
