here are the only fish i really want to own...

FH
JD
GT
Texas
Jag
Oscar (my first fish)

anyway to keep these guys while only having a 100g and a 60g? willing to pick up another 100g if i need too... can i upgrade to something 200g+ to keep these guys together or these guys living together is just otu of the question?

One step at a time.. A 200g takes time a patients...

I would say the tanks you have are enough.. but u need to get rid of some fish..
keep-4 cichlid in your 100 gallon and 2 cichlid in your 60 gallon.. which ever one is smaller.. goes in the 60gallon.

Oscar are pain.. and not very interesting.. i would get rid of it.. but its ur first fish so u might want to keep it in the 100gallon..
But u def need to get rid of the other fish.. Pacu, convict, texas, fire mouth, they dont go well with each other..

GT and JD and FH are no no mixes.. they will fight.
Oscar with other cichlid are ok, oscar with oscar. mistake unless its m/f

The key to fish keeping is not always what u like to put.. U have to research the individual species of each fish and their native location.

I never like to Mix South American with African, but most ppl on MFK do.. U can mix South american and central american together..
Also, cichlids do not mix well with Characidae, or pacu..

Most cichlids are Central american, with a few from south america..

Just wanted to add that my male jd by himself in a 55gal sucks. Always hidden and won't eat unless the lights are off, also crashes into my heater if I walk in while hes not hiding. I am about to get rid of him. He's over a year old now to.

Oscar, GT and one JD in the 100, FH solo in the 60. Still may be forced to upgrade later though.

FlowerHorn are typically very tough fish that rarely accept tank mates… I suggest you move him it into the 60 Gal…

The Jag has the potential to be extremely tough as well… and is unlikely to be kind to tank mates that it can bully…

If they are still somewhat small, you could put these two together in the 60 Gal and see how it goes. As these two fish grow you will get an idea if they can live together or not. If they cannot you will be able to gauge what size tank you would need to get to split them up.

I would use the 100 Gal as the “community”. I would pick 4 of the following:

JD
GT
Firemouth
Convict
Oscar
Parrot

Or pick 3 of the above and add a Texas…
