mine is on a hunger strike but krill seems to be the only thing he wants to eat hope yours isn't as picky as mine

have had the lima now for 4 months and i always thought it was growing very slowly, then i measured him and he is now 8" 
has grown an inch a month.

It will get bigger that a foot !!! Mines at almost 16" right now and eats like a pig!!! He'll eat 20 feeders in 1 day, but he's now eating pellets most of the time. And yes theose little guys in the pics they'll be lunch in no time.
those first pics are 4 months old and the tetras were eaten a few days after that
I know they can get up to 20" but ive heard they often stop at 12".
Of course i´m hoping it will reach its max size.

shovelnoses do get pretty big, i am going to post a pic of mine soon. he is in a 150 gallon tank right now, be carefull they bring new meaning to the word skiddish. especially if you have dimmer lighting in your home, they crash harder and jump higher than the best of them when they are frightened .
Two very nice looking catfish, I'd love to pick up a paroon shark just don't find them in my area very often, with good care and enough tank space your Lima should easily hit 16"+ my beast Lima is about 22" ~Trent
