It's blind that why the base color is dark as it see total darkness just like how you place a bichir in a dark substrate, it will also turn dark base. Just great combo though. With a dark base and blind, makes it look more scary looking. Very nice!!!
It being blind would actually have the opposite effect. Think of a bichir that has been transported in a sealed dark container. It's pattern turns light and faded, not dark.
Very nice endli, looks to be melanistic, have excess black pigment.
Lol! That is because they are stress and that is why they turn pale. I had many blind bichirs from blind senegal, blind laparadei and blind endli and they are all turn dark. I had one of my lapradei that got blind last year and in 3 weeks in turned very dark. Many have done this kind of experiment in Asia where they purposely blind the bichirs and fooling the buyer that they melanistic for more money.
