Not sure if it was intentionally blind. I will try to post pics of my blind bichir if I get a chance to take some pics. They are not that active and hides most o the time.

Bichir are not born blind nor they stay in caves. If you wannabe an expert try to blind a bichir and find the result yourself. Blind cave tetra evolved that way. If a bichir stayed in cave and over million years of generation of staying in that cave then yes it will turn pink.

The bichir does not even know its blind. All it knows is that its pitch black, so he will try to match into that environment. At first I thought the same thing that they would be lighter in color, but its not evolution but a reaction.
