She ended up laying again and got even crazier and ate all the fry and hammered the male even more. It wasn't worth taking any pics of him like that but now he is almost fully healed up and a great father after taking the girl out and putting her in the qt tank with the bigger female, now receiving a bit of her own medicine lol. Breeding seems to have given my male a growth spirt too and he's looking much more like a dominant fish too so I'm stoked. Thanks mate appreciate the comment, only fault I can find with him is his first dorsal ray is a bit deformed( you can see if you zoom in) which only became apparent a couple of months ago but apart from that he's a stunner, you wait to see him once his dorsal and anal trailers have fully grown back after his mauling( month ago the orange on his dorsal fin had almost completely been chewed off) can't believe how rapidly his fins have healed. When I look at your male gt I reckon mine is gonna turn out almost exactly the same. They are very similar coloured.

Thanks mate appreciate it. There are only about 12 fry left in the tank and the other 100 or so have gone to my mates to grow out so he can get a nice pair going too as the dad started picking them off this week as they'd gotten to 30-40mm in size. I'm stoked because then I'll be able to see how they turn out. Can't wait until I've got my big tank and can start growing them out and get some quality back out there. Think the boys been getting too excited from watching the 2 girls sitting next him showing off both with clutches of eggs now haha. Was expecting him to start picking them off anytime though as they'd grown so much.

Thanks for the reply mate. I certainly love this fish and his colours have def never enjoyed a cichlid as much as this fella. Pretty hard to find them round these parts with such good colour. I'll be hanging onto this one as long as possible. Really can't wait to get a couple more tanks and do another spawn so that i have this line for a long time.
