That or the small space in the back, the three lids were down.I've never had a cichla jump, something must have spooked it during the night.

Nice! He came a long way and still has a long way to go. Good job raising him!

Thanks Walker, since this is the first dat that I have raised from small to this size it does have a special spot in my heart.

Let the pellets soak in frozen raw prawn or mussel in the fridge overnight. As the prawn and mussel thaws it will get the pellets wet and expand a little. This is what i done and have managed to get 7 different dats onto pellets over the past year. They still won't take them dry but all eat them if i prepare them this way. My issue is getting them stable! I have 5 now and 3 of them come to the front of the tank in the morning and one hand feeds, but none totally stable, although getting better from time to time.
your lucky he eats pellets at that size - i have tried everything to get mine to eat them.....

A food that I've managed to get my dats on with ease was the hikari cichlid gold medium pellet. Since they started taking that they pretty much eat everything. I've got 3 campbelli coming in soon and so I'm hoping to do the same with them. Thoughts?
Krich, your dats are badass :D

Thanks X and those sound like good feeding ideas that are worth trying.Keep us posted on how things work out with the campbelli, you don't hear too much about multiple NGT being kept together.

Yeah I know. I'm hoping it'll work out as I currently have a indo, american and a tiny dat that on what side looks like a st and on the other a strange indo lol. I'll post pics if I can get some. It's about 4" will post a thread once I have the NGT
