The mexican jumping bean is the term used when cydia moth larva lives in seed pods. The larvae moves, so the seed appears to jump. These moths are native to Mexico. I was unaware that it was a derogatory remark, nor did I mean it as one to disparage or ridicule anyone. My perception of the phrase is bright jelly beans being thrown in the air.

The choices? Grab the net and save the fish or get the camera. Likely the damage was done already so the net wouldn't have helped but you did get the shot. Cool picture but sorry for the fish, Congi will be Congi after all.
Yeah the pic was actually taken by a family member and sent to me, so fortunately I was not put in that conundrum :). Having said that, I prolly would’ve done the same. The SD is after all only a fraction of the congi’s price and can easily be replaced
