My LMB wont eat worms..:screwy: He is interested in them. He acts hungry.. Then when he gets them in his mouth he spits them out.. He will then forget it's there come back bite it again and spit it out.. But every time I have to dig them out of the gravel because he doesn't eat them... However he does love live fish...

He's spoiled.

And if you've ever fished you've noticed that LMB can be interested in worms sometimes but are generally interested in something that appears to be swimming.
What did you start out feeding your bass and how big was he when you got him?

He also may be overfed and since he's not hungry knows he can wait awhile to get the more tasty and interesting feeder fish rather than worms.

You guys are right he is spoiled. I'm sick and tired of dropping these little bastards in the tank and having to dig them out of the damn gravel every time cause the little woman wont eat his food. I'll just deprive him from feeders till he takes em. Thanks guys.

I pellet trained mine. No live fish, except on rare occasion.

They are predators. Pellets probably make their markings and color look really good, I would like to think. I keep LMB because I enjoy watching and learning about their behavior. Hunting prey is a key factor in their behavior. I will try and feed mine some pellets and see how he reacts. I am on the look out for a few baby crawdads.;) Any other LIVE alternatives???

Depending on how big he is, try whole jumbo shrimp.

If you want him to eat the worm, soak it in garlic/distilled water for a couple minutes. He should get it in his mouth and never let go. Or he may just suck the garlic off then spit it out. Since I have tried it I haven't had a fish yet that will not eat raw garlic or anything coated in it.

I do it with any food that a fish will not readily eat, it has worked with all of them so far. I even do it with food they eat on a regular basis. Sometimes I just toss garlic in and watch them destroy it.

When I get my PBass I am going to see what they will not take. I think they are currently only eating live foods. I will feed them live for a while then toss some shrimp. If they don't take the shrimp, I will continue to feed live for a while longer. Then I will try it with magic shrimp. If it works then I'll say that I am still at 100 percent success with new foods and garlic.

It may just be coincidence that 100 percent of the fish that I have like garlic.
