My LMB wont eat worms..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
when he gets a little bigger drop a mouse in. he doesnt have to be nearly as big as you think either. especially if you use a small mouse.

I do apologise if I missed in this thread but....have your tried crickets? I had a lmb a couple of decades ago...we used to go to the lake he came from(DH brought him home from a fishing trip and we didn't think much about its legality back then)we would catch minnows for him. This little fella loved his wiggler and red worms:D I could even get him to jump out of the water to take it from my hand...totally awesome.
I still miss that lmb terribly:(I used to love to sit by his tank and "communicate" with him:ROFL:....but he outgrew the tank too soon and upgrading wasn't an option so we released back into his 'hometown":WHOA:The lmg has to be my favorite native fish.

Caligal, welcome to the forum, is good to have people interested in our natives, but i know as soon as others reading this thread you will start reading on why you're not to take any captured fish home and place it/them into a tank and then release it/them, you just don't do it for alot of reasons, mostly diseases, and i understand that it was a couple of decades ago and you were young and having fun, so don't get discouraged. This is a forum after all and any views are welcome( to a certain point ) and i'm glad that the LMB is your favorite native fish :me too!!!

Hey Fatherof5,
If you were asking me what species.....I haven't kept any natives since we let the above mentioned go....I DO have a lone survivor of some fishbait that was left over from a crappie fishin' trip hubby took goin' on 3 yrs ago...'fathead' is the type my searching came up with:D
