My mixture of fishes

About half a year ago, I sold the GT pair, and got african cichlids.
Last week I went to one of the LFSs, and i saw MY GTs!
WHAT A MISTAKE!!!
Although the africans are very active, they lack the personality of the americans.
So obviously I bought three of my GTs fry.And now I start again. I'll sell the africans and will keep only the tree GTs (1m and 2f) and a pterygoplichthys.

My tank is 330 l. I want to keep the GTs, 2 severums and the pterygoplichthys. Can i add more fish? I am thinking of 2 JD or 2 jaguars or 2 carpintis. Will the tank be overstocked? Which additional pair wil be better?

I had to google convert that to gallons. 87.177 if that’s correct (odd amount has me skeptical) I’d have to say no more fish.
Even keeping the severums long term might be a problem.
My pair when kept in a 75g would not tolerate any other cichlids. And it even got stressful for them to be in a 4ft tank.

If you want more fish I’d suggest schoolers. There are many to choose from and will give you more movement in the tank and make the gts feel more comfortable.

Those are Africans right? I personally wouldn’t. I have zero experience with Africans, but I prefer a peaceful schooler.

I have giant danios, glowtetras, and three different types of Rainbowfish with mine. If you want color, I’d go with rainbows. For lots of movement the giant danios. The tetras spend most of their time just suspended in the water column not moving. Lol
I did have guppies before, but they just slowly got picked off and no fry ever survived so that was short lived. Mollies might work, but I can’t speak from experience there.

Aulunocara are not a good idea, you should look at some large tetras. Definitely no to all the large, aggressive CA cichlids you listed.
You will have major problems if your GT's or Severums pair up. A 90 gallon tank, is not all that big, for SA cichlids. I would recommend you only keep the pair of either GT's or severums, whichever is your favorite. The pleco may also try to eat the eggs if your fish breed, which could find it on the wrong end of the parents' aggression.

I will definitely keep the GT's, but I will wait for the severums to grow, before removing them. The last time I kept GT's they were with some Aulonocara, and were fine. I'll give it a thought.

Yesterday I ordered big driftwood, I want to ask you, if the tanins a bad for the fish, or does it just look bad. Do I have to soak the driftwood somewhere else, or I can toss it in the tank?

Tannins in general would be good for the fish, they are supposed to have antifungal properties and help mimic natural south American waters. If the driftwood has never been soaked, it will give off a ton of them. If you don't like the look, I would soak in a Rubbermaid tub for a few weeks to get some of it out, though it will probably still leach tannins. Frequent water changes will keep the water from getting too yellow

The driftwood was never been in a tank before, but as long as it is not harmful for the fish, I'll put it directly in the tank. Because I dont have the space and Rubbermaid tub or anything that big.

About the schooling fish you suggested... we do not have them here (in Bulgaria), except the mollies :(
