Nice! No problems with critters taking them?

Thats what I was thinking, when I tried to make a go at an outside pond a bunch of herons or ribbon snakes would come and nab them all up. :irked:

Beautiful pond though Liz, those goldies are looking real nice ;)

i have never lost of my original gold fish to outside environment..although i have quite a few acres i have the pond up close to house and deck... the only animals that join the fish on a regular basis is frogs... when i take the goldies in to the basement pond in the fall there are always a couple of babies that survive..the rest the frogs consume... but 8 years now with the same original goldies and now and then a few babies.:D

I have all kinds of wild animals here..maybe the presence and scent of my doberman helps eliminate any one's temptations... :D Thank you.... never saw a snake yet...

Someday again.....your going to need one !!!!!:D:D:D

With the pacu and the cats, you're probably right. Then I'll have to worry about the wildlife, dogs and neighborhood children for completely different reasons.

Yes dobes are great I still had my red female "Yumi" when I set up the pond and she would always lie in the pond and just relax then kill all snakes that she could find and bring them to me and drop them on the ground in front of me. Best dog I ever had, I really miss her :(

If you get a 3 prong garden tool (name escapes me) that has a 3 foot handle on it you can get them right at the rhizome while standing up!I wouldn't remove weeds any other way!I got a pretty diesel rose garden.
