Rocks and Sand are amazing, you should get a background and hide the heaters...

The background is painted black i think that's fine. As for the lighting i just got a t5ho fixture from my girlfriend for christmas and i think my fish look amazing compared to what my other fixture was offering. Rock work is very nice by the way

Looks great!

Imo. i would look into getting a group of syn. multipunctatus...

Well, now that you mentioned it! My fish guy is bringing in a whole bunch of different Syndos! I will for sure look into it!

Thanks!

Update!!!

New lighting!!!!!
SolarMax HE2 T5 Strip Light - 36" 21w x2. A 10,000k Daylight Bulb, an Actinic-03 bulb, and 6 Blue moonlight LEDs; Independent bulb controls!

New inhabitants!!!
17 2'' Yellow Labs
4 3'' Synodontis Eruptus
1 6'' Synodontis Eruptus

Ive noticed that the Blue Cobalts are coming out of hiding more frequently! This may be due to the influx of new inhabitants already patrolling the tank freely!

Anyways more pics!!!!! Yay!!!

Wow, huge difference in lighting.
I'd paint that intake black and more effort in hiding those heaters.
4 to 6" off the side pane glass sides.

I would like to paint the intake black, but im not sure what paint to use.

Unfortunately, I have put forth as much effort as I could to hide the heaters. You cannot see it but behind the rock there is little to no space. I was only able to shove the heater so far down. This also goes for the side panels.

My only resort is to rearrange the rock, to allow enough space to slip the heater down more. I am hesitant to do this because of 3 reasons.

1. I like my rock arrangement
2. I don't want the catfish to lay on it, even though both heaters have guards.
3. I want to have access to the dial.

I too like the black background. I'm not sure what the other members are getting at?

My original comment said something about a background. Now that I look at your original pictures, I see that it was painted black. I am not sure what I was thinking??

The new lights make a big difference. It looks good.
