My New 120H Gallon Aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So can you guys please answer my questions? How much longer do I have to let the tank cycle for before
adding fish? How long should I leave the AC110 on the 120 gallon tank? And is there anything else I should do? Thanks in advance

Nice tank I'm Working on something similar I'd say you should cycle the tank for about 3-4weeks

For fish mabey
Datanoids
Flagtail
Bichir

Best of luck and I'm looking forward to updates

W/ a seeded filter w/ media on the tank it shouldnt take more then 4-5 days imo as long as you filled the aquarium w/ dechlor water!

Thats the same combo i run on my 90gal and my water is perfect! I buy bulk filter pad sheets and cut them to ac110 spec and stack 4 in it and man does it filter!!!!

Goodluck man and the only real way to know if the tank is cycled is to test! Api fw master kit is awesome! When it reads nitrates and 0ppm ammonia/nitrite your golden!

Ok thanks. I added AquaSafe after I filled the tank to dechlorinate it. I then added the substrate, filled the tank, heated it, setup the FX5 and then added the seeded AC110.

The tank is still cloudy and this is about the third or fourth day after installing the FX5... Any suggestions?

Just dont get in a hurry add your fish over some time let your bacteria build and you'll be fine

So I just got home and tested my water using the API Freshwater Test Kit. I followed the directions exactly. And set a timer for the Nitrate test. Here are the results:

pH-8.0 (this seems high, what should I do?)
Ammonia-0.25 ppm
Nitrite-0 ppm
Nitrate-0 ppm

Looks like your tank is no cycled yet. You would want your ammonia/nitrite levels to be 0 and nitrate x. Don't mess with the ph, it's fine where it is. Your fish will be better off with stable ph than a fluctuating one from being messed with.
