Looks good! Decided tp just order a new tank?

Yeah I did. Pretty good deal going on now. Brand new for $375. I just cant have that on my mind all the time. I am planning on using the other tank, Just in my basement, where water damage is less of a concern, as opposed to a second floor bedroom over an office.

good call bro:)

make sure to update update update. PS if you could help me out with letting me know exactly what does a W/D do is it a good filtration system or do you need to have a canister filter or a HOB filter associated with it?

The reason I ask is because I am looking into a 150 gallon tank with a W/D that comes with it...would I need to add a HOB or Canister filter to have it in working order?

A wet/dry is the king of filtration in my opinion. The main purpose of mine is a large amount of area for bacteria to grow, and the filter socks are great for taking crap out of the water.

It really depends and is up to you if you want additional filtration, but its never a bad idea. It depends how well it works, I built mine to do exactly what I wanted: Overkill on bio and filter socks for mechanical. My W/D is a 30 gallon tank and about 22 gallons of it is bio. I'm also gonna have that Fx5 in the pic on the 125 and probably an AC110 + a powerhead or two. I want it way overdone. I wound imagine with my setup that I could get away with just the W/D, but I dont want to do that.

My goal= A super clear, over-filtered, relatively quiet, and tall tank set-up. I figure Im about 3/4 of the way there. All I have left is getting the tank and fiddling with plumbing until all is silent.

looks great what did you use in the wet dry to hold the sections in place, is that
Plexi glass?

Yeah just some scrap acrylic from the baffles. Works ok. On the 55 i just made for my 300 i used lengths of pvc to support the white eggcrate stuff at the bottom because it had more than triple the bioballs, and without additional support under there it would have collapsed.

Alright. Tank is ordered and will be in on Wednesday, plumbing almost all set, and looking into sand and paint now.

Leslie's PFS - Any personal experience? heard its good stuff, but want some opinions from you guys.

Paint for background - Ive used rustoleum spray paint and it works great, but i have to do it inside, and I like my lungs. Anybody know a good paint for rolling on the back?

Opinions please. Thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure JK47 used a roller on all of the tanks featured in this thread and he said that he'll never spray again. I can't remember if he said exactly what paint he used though and I don't want to read through all 84 pages to find out.
