I don't know. I brought the tank like that and I didn't get a chance to ask the seller. It's two square acrylic patch that glued to the tank. I will post a closer picture later to see anyone know.

Here are the two solid white 3" square acrylic on the front of the tank. They was placed symmetrically on the front evenly from each side. I thought they were some kind of design but blocks the view of the tank. Please let me know what you guy think.

Are there holes on the back that those are covering? They also look sort of like a mount for something else like a background or some sort of decoration.

They're outside not inside and there are no holes behind

I don't know how to remove them. looks like they are glued to the acrylic. you can see small bubbles from the glue.
