nice tank, and great looking bichir. Now about the squares... if its glued on with just silicone you may be able to just use a razor to carefully pry it off. If its something like crazy glue you may have to just cut it to bits from the top and break it off in pieces and then put in a lot of elbow grease to buff the glue spot out... but it will be worth it. those things really got to go.
