no kidding. i'm pretty sure he was asking a question. i don't think he or anyone else wants to be preached to or criticized. unfortunetley you can't hear sarcasm through typed writing.

I wouldnt say I was preaching. Your that sensetive that you call that preaching?
You answered your own "question" as unless I can read your mind when you post you say you buy animals, fish all the time without knowing anything about them and they do fine I suggest it nots the best thing to do

....relax man

Really. I was thinking the same thing...

Nice fish. most Africans they sell at petsmart don't get much bigger than 4-6". check the exact species to be sure, though.

I feed my fish about 4 times a day, but very small meals. just don't put any more food in the tank than they can eat in a couple of minutes.

Thank you. I have been feeding them two times a day with enough food to last them 3 minutes or so. They all seem to be eating great (including the molly :D).

No problems yet!

I was wondering, is it ok to hand feed cichlids?

What i mean by that is i get my finger wet and touch a flake. I then dip it in the water so it's attached to me. My cichlids are eating out of my hand, but i was just wondering if it's alright with their body?

Thanks

I see, they've been doing well with my molly so far. They even eat together...

You might want to move the molly. Once the cichlids get used to the tank, they will terrorize the poor molly.

I'm going to be keeping a close eye on them. I don't have another tank, so if there is any aggression or hostility i will hand her over to my neighbors community tank.

Thanks for your concern.

*UPDATE*

The red molly was donated to a little girl through craigslist

The Pseudotropheus zebra (Albino looking one) was traded because of its aggression due to size

I picked up another Pseudotropheus lombardoi but yellow and the same size as the other.

I also picked up another Pseudotropheus lombardoi (blue) that is the same size.

My plans are to have maybe 3-4 more (totaling around 7-8) small Pseudotropheus and raise them.

I noticed one of the blue Pseudotropheus lombardoi flarring the bottom fin... can this mean anything?

Thank you.

You can pick those up assorted for $2 a piece by me, this store has a tank full of them like hundreds at the small size

Anyway, they are aggressive even at that size and needs lots of hiding places. Even with 7-8 you'll might end up with some getting killed. the more merrier if your tank can sustain them.
