My new 440 gallon ray tank is almost done!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i used two canister filters from other tanks and even a few sponge filters from other tanks to jump start this tank.i have had 6 large pond gold fish and a wolf fish in there for over a week.I took all readings and everything looks great.I am going to leave the other filters in there for a while until the fx5s cycle.I just removed the fish and put this guy in there....back in one moment with a picture of one of the new tank mates,any ideas?? and its not a ray:naughty::naughty:

You trust that killer with other fish? I had a Jardini that I could barely trust with water, yet alone precious, delicate, rare, even endangered-ish sting rays.

He was a big baby in my friends tank and if he shows any and i mean any aggression he will go in one of my other big tanks,I have a back up plan:}

"The tank is 4.5x4.5x3,actually with this conversion chart that comes out to 455 .I am 6 feet tall,in case you were thinking i was a small girl in her tank." Quote Hotfishgirls

I got it I had the height all wrong I was cutting the down by 6 in. I was only giving it a 30 in ceiling. 36 sounds right. I knew you weren't a short girl I remeber somewhere in the Lobby I think where you said you were over 5'7" so I took the rought LxWxH off you only being 5'7"

Still very nice tank I just couldn't figure out the gallons. Sometimes we need a little help .

What rays are you looking for?
Did you do any mods to the FX5's to eliminate/reduce the cavitation. With the filters located in such an intimate setting you may find them distracting.

I have mine in the basement and can hear it sometimes when the house is very quiet.
Just some thoughts. - FM

.I also do water changes on my ray tanks ever other day:}
Wow you really are hardcore. I'm building a automatic water changer on my 220 because I'm lazy :headbang2Everyother day on that 440 will be like a parttime job.:cry:

My new MH pendants have leds in them for moonlighting. I just held one over my 120 to see what they look like and WOW!!!!! With that tank next to your bed that would make for an awesome night light.

for some awesome strange reason the filter became even more quiet when plumbed in my system?

I already have four motoros and a very good size Jaguar ray
