If you are possibly gettting sick Sens from a LFS I would advise quarentining (and if necessay healing up of)them, before putting them in any esablished fish tank. So that your others do not get sick.

All my Sens from Walmart came with bacterial lung and fin things that I had to heal up while they were in quarentine, before they could be well enough to be near any other fish.

What does the bacterial disease look like? If this is something common I would really like to know what to look for.

I wanted to come back with some good shots of him, but he is being difficult to get a pic of, he has claimed his spot and isn't leaving it! I tried to get a few shots of him hiding in there, and they are not the best quality but you can kinda make him out if you look under the leaves of the plant closest to the drift wood, as he is getting settled and comes out more I will get some new pics of him but for now this is all I have.

He's so cute! Mine looked just like that when I got them a few weeks ago. Now they are all fat little sausages!

Well if he is eating normally, fins aren't red, ripped or eroding, and his breathing and slimecoat look good and his gills aren't red, then he is probably doesn't have a bacterial infection.

But still best to quarentinte for a month, because they can carry things that aren't alway apparent right away... Been there, done that- no fun. :(

Thanks for the info..I will keep an eye out for that then!! IF say he does end up with it what would I treat him with?

As for the parasites, do you mean internal? I had ordered some Dwarf Puffers one time and when I got them they had those..so I do have some meds for that, and know what to watch for...as far as any other parasites I have know experience with them, can you tell me any signs to watch out for, and how would I treat them?

As far as meds on hand I have Melafix and the igel-tek Ultra cure PX.

You said red on his gills, well he does have the reddish area...I'm not sure if you can see it in this pic well enough, but does this look like the bacteria you were talking about??? It's more like a few speckles

They can have parasites(like worms) inside, or parasites(like anchor woms) that are outside, and visible.

There gills are a little red anyhow. I mean like really red and even showing through to outside.

Melafix is a better preventative than a cure. As for treatment it really depends what he would have. But you can check out beblondies great primer for more info:
